You may want to introduce those old favorites to your kids, nieces, or nephews. The good news is that not only are some of the classic board games coming back but there are also many new board games for you to find and fall in love with. Remember to check the age of the child you are buying a board game for.
There are so many wonderful gifts to engage the creative side of the little one in your life. From color-by-number projects and molding clay to woodworking crafts and more, you’re sure to find the right art project to occupy their time this holiday season. Take time to browse the arts and crafts aisle of your local hobby store to find the perfect present that will make their little artist’s heart happy. One additional benefit is the final project can be proudly displayed in their room!
It seems that children would rather spend time on a screen or device than work with their hands or use their creative-thinking skills. If you like puzzles, find one that is age-appropriate for your child and invite them to sit down with you to finish the puzzle together. In fact, since the shorter days of winter typically cause you to spend more time indoors anyway, this is a great option to have fun as a family and spark great conversations.
Cooking is a great way to teach children math and science without them ever knowing! As they learn to measure ingredients and see what things mix well together, they’ll simply think they’re learning how to make delicious food. While they are certainly doing that, they’ll also be discovering how to understand measurements and more. You might even discover your child has a talent for cooking or baking, which can lead to wonderful family meals and memories!
New shoes are one of the most common Christmas gifts for kids, which means that you should buy some tieless laces from Synch Bands to go with! Tying shoes is fairly difficult for many kids, and even if they do get their shoes tied, the laces inevitably come loose within a short amount of time. Elastic laces will stay locked in and secure all day long, which means no more tripping over loose laces. Shop our online store to buy the colors they’re sure to love!
]]>As a mom, one of your top priorities is keeping your kids safe. And while you can't be with them every second of the day, here are 5 steps you can take to help ensure their safety.
The first step in keeping your kids safe on a playground is to teach them the rules. Let them know that they should always stay within sight and that they should never go on the equipment without an adult present. Additionally, teach them to use the equipment properly and to never push or shove other kids while they’re playing.
Before letting your kids play on a playground, take a few minutes to inspect the equipment. Make sure that there are no loose bolts or sharp edges that could hurt your child. Additionally, look for signs of wear and tear, such as cracks or splinters, and make sure that the surface beneath the equipment is soft and free of debris.
Another important tip for keeping your kids safe on a playground is to dress them appropriately. Avoid clothing with drawstrings or loose straps that could get caught on the equipment. Additionally, make sure that their shoes are secure and not likely to fall off while they’re playing.
I know, it seems like a no-brainer. But you'd be surprised how many times I've seen kids running around on the playground with their laces flapping in the wind. Not only is it a tripping hazard, but loose laces can also get caught on playground equipment, which can lead to serious injury.
So, next time your little one heads out to play, take a quick moment to double-check their shoelaces or make sure they have Synch Bands in their shoes. It could end up being the difference between a fun day at the park and a trip to the ER.
If you’re going to be at the playground during sunny weather, make sure to apply sunscreen to your kids before they start playing. Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and reapply it every two hours or after your child has been sweating or swimming.
Finally, always supervise your kids closely when they’re playing on a playground. Even if the equipment appears to be safe, it’s important to make sure that your child is using it properly and not engaging in any risky behavior.
As moms, our top priority is always keeping our kids safe. And while we can't be with them every second of the day, there are certain precautions we can take to help ensure their safety. One of those is making sure their shoes are always tied tightly. So, next time your little one heads out to play, take a quick moment to grab the sunscreen and double-check their shoelaces or make sure they have Synch Bands in their shoes. It could end up being the difference between a fun day at the park and a trip to the ER.
]]>As a parent, you want nothing more than for your children to be healthy and happy. You take them to their doctor appointment, make sure they eat their vegetables, and tuck them in at night with a kiss on the forehead. But are you doing everything you can to ensure your child's health? Believe it or not, the health of your child's feet plays a crucial role in their overall development.
Here's why foot health is so important for kids.
Foot Health and Developmental delays
You may not realize this, but the health of your child's feet is directly related to their ability to develop properly. issues with your child's feet can lead to issues with their posture and how they walk. This can in turn lead to developmental delays. So if you notice your child starting to lag behind other kids their age in terms of development, it could be due to an unidentified foot issue. That's why it's important to have your child's feet checked by a doctor or podiatrist on a regular basis, just to be on the safe side.
Foot Health and Physical Activity
Not only is foot health important for developmental reasons, but it's also important for physical activity. If your child has any sort of foot pain or deformity, it will impact their ability to participate in physical activity. This could lead to a sedentary lifestyle and an increased risk for obesity later on in life. So if you want your kids to be active and stay healthy, make sure their feet are healthy too!
Tips for Shopping
Shopping for shoes can be a daunting task, especially when you're looking for the perfect pair for your kids. But never fear! With these simple tips, you'll be sure to find shoes that fit both your child's feet and your budget.
First, it's important to get a proper Fit. That means measuring your child's foot from heel to toe and comparing it to the size chart on the shoe box. If you're unsure of what size to get, err on the side of caution and go up a size. You can always add an insole or extra socks for a snugger Fit.
Once you've got the Fit sorted, it's time to think about style. What's your child's favorite color? Do they prefer sneakers or dress shoes? If you're not sure, take them shopping with you and let them pick out a few pairs that they like. After all, they're the ones who have to wear them!
With these tips in mind, you're sure to find the perfect shoes for your kids - and have some fun while shopping for them, too!
As a parent, time is one of your most precious resources. You may think about your parents and wonder how they managed everything. We bet that they used some of the time-saving tips we will share in today's post. Tying shoes can be a big hassle, so make life easier with this tip! Make your life a cinch and order tieless laces from Synch Bands.
No matter where you work, at home, in the office, or a combination of the two, you’re not likely short on time when it comes to getting yourself ready for the day. Typically, your kids are the ones who are running around trying to find all the things they need that somehow seem to have disappeared overnight. The night before, make sure that you have your kids put their clothes out for the next day. Pack their backpacks and lunches so they are ready the next morning. That way, they don't have to take time deciding what to wear or pack for their lunches.
If you find that you are eating more take-out food than you would like, there is a way to cook at home without spending an hour in the kitchen every night. Try doubling or tripling recipes and freezing the extras for another night. Another option is to set aside time on the weekend to prepare three or four meals at once and freeze them until you’re ready to use them. To avoid skipping breakfast on busy mornings, bake large batches of muffins or egg bites that you can eat on the go.
You may be so used to picking up after your children that you might not realize they are old enough to help with small chores. You don't need to do all the work. You can ask your older children to help you with laundry, vacuuming, and dusting. And if they're younger, have them pick up clothes and toys and put them back in their containers.
Establish routines in your home. Your morning routine should be the same every day. You can also establish bedtime rituals. This way, your day will go more smoothly and easier because people know what to expect. You can also do things on certain days. The more routine the activity, the less confusion there will be. This will help you have a better day and save time.
Tying your shoes is annoying. It takes too much time to tie them or figure out which bunny goes around the tree or through the loop. When you buy the best tieless laces from Synch Bands, you will save time and stress. Order today and make your life a cinch!
]]>There are many things to learn as you grow up, and tying shoes is perhaps one of the hardest skills for kids to learn. If you’re tired of the daily struggle to tie shoes, be sure to shop online at Synch Bands to find the best tieless laces for sneakers and shoes. Our non-tie laces are easily adjusted to fit comfortably and lock into place. Contact us to learn more.
When your child was an infant, it became second nature to do everything for them because they needed you to. As your child grows older, however, it’s important to evaluate what you do for them and what you need to let them do for themselves. In fact, many parents still do everything for their children because it’s easier and quicker. The problem with this is that it takes away valuable learning opportunities for your child.
Teach your child how to perform a specific task and model it for them. Then, let them handle the task on their own. Depending on their age, you can either remain nearby in case they need help or tell them that you’ll be in the next room if they have a question.
You want your child to grow up into a healthy adult with the basic life skills they’ll need to live an independent life. With that, some of the life skills they need to learn include:
It’s important to teach them how to do each of these skills by modeling how to do them and then allowing your child the opportunity to try each task on their own. Obviously, it’s important to teach each of these skills at the appropriate age. For example, you wouldn’t try to teach your five year old how to manage money, but you should expect your 10-year-old to know how to do some basic cleaning and help with cooking.
It’s important to give your children age-appropriate chores to help them learn early on the value of contributing to the family and learning how to take care of things on their own. In fact, since children, like adults, find comfort in routine, try to schedule the same chores at the same times and on the same days. If you’re not sure what kind of chores are right for your child, a simple online search will provide a number of example chore charts that are organized by age.
Perhaps one of the hardest things to do as a parent is to allow your child to make mistakes. While you don’t expect them to be perfect, you might struggle with letting them deal with the consequences of their choices. In those moments, it’s important to remind yourself that all of us, your child included, learn from the mistakes we make. Whether we learn what not to say in certain situations, how to judge if the gap is too far to jump, or to take care of projects sooner than later, it’s important to allow your child to make mistakes while they are young and the consequences are much smaller.
It’s almost a natural reaction to jump in and fix problems for your child. If your goal is to raise an independent child, however, you have to resist this urge. When a problem arises, allow your child the opportunity to develop a solution. You can guide them by asking questions to prompt them to think of how to solve a situation. Don’t provide all the answers for them, as this will eventually create an adult who is never quite sure how to address problems in their life without calling home to mom or dad.
Think about the best teachers you had when you were a student and what made them great teachers. You’ll probably realize they all had one thing in common - they didn’t provide the answers to every situation. That’s because a good teacher will do his or her best to help you discover the answer, not give it to you. That same principle applies to parenting.
Teaching your child how to tie traditional shoelaces can be incredibly difficult and frustrating for both of you. With that, check out the elastic shoelaces at Synch Bands! We designed our tieless laces to solve the shoelace problem that almost every kid seems to have, and we know you’re going to love how easy it makes things for your kid. Shop our online store today to find the perfect pair of tieless laces, and Synch up those shoes!
]]>At Synch Bands, we’re proud to offer quality, elastic tieless laces to make it easier for you to wear your favorite Chucks or Vans any day of the week. Simply thread the laces through the eyelets, snug to your comfort level, and lock in place. Now, instead of wearing shoes that need to be tied, you can easily and simply slip them on or off.
If your heels slip out of your shoes while walking, this could lead to accidents. Using the 7th lace hole and making a loop lacing lock can help solve this issue. Using the 7th eyelet instead of the traditional 6-eyelet lacing technique offers a better grip and increased stability. If your laces don’t offer enough room to use the 7th eyelet and still tie securely, be sure to shop our tieless laces online at Synch Bands.
If you feel high pressure at your forefoot or just have wide feet in general, there are a couple of lacing pattern options that can give your feet the room they need to feel more comfortable. While some shoe brands do offer wider shoe models, the lacing pattern you use could make the difference in comfort go from just okay to absolutely amazing.
You may not know this, but there are actually different lacing techniques to give you the right fit based on your arch. Since people have high to low arches, you want to determine the type of arch you have and then implement the proper lacing technique to give you the maximum level of comfort. If you notice an outward foot roll motion when you walk, then you probably have high arches. Alternating a cross underneath with parallel on the top should adjust the fit of your shoe to match your arch.
People with narrow feet naturally tend to prefer shoes that offer a more narrow fit. Additionally, while you may not have discomfort, you might struggle to get the snug fit you need. The standard lacing pattern that crosses back and forth forming Xs down the tongue of the shoe should work, but make sure that you don’t lace your shoes so tightly that they hinder normal blood flow.
If you have flat feet, then you know that you have to be careful with the types of shoes you wear because flat feet can put you at a higher risk for low back pain and knee pain. In addition to inserts and other items you may use to give you the right support, there is also a special lacing technique you can use to give additional support and comfort. Shop Synch Bands today for the elastic tieless laces you need, and enjoy a secure snug fit all day long.
]]>No matter what approach you use to teach your child to tie their shoelaces, it can still be fairly challenging for them to figure everything out. Tieless laces offer a much more convenient way to help your child slip on their shoes and have them fit securely all day long. The Synch clip allows you or your child to adjust the tightness of the shoe so they feel comfortable no matter what activity they engage in. In fact, when you use tieless laces from Synch bands, all your child will have to learn is how to thread the lace through the eyelets of the shoe, which is much easier than learning how to tie a traditional shoelace.
At Synch bands, we get that black is a great color for a lot of outfits, but sometimes you want to spice things up, which is why we offer a wide variety of color options. From Blue Royale and Gnarly Brown to Grateful Red, Slime Green, and more, you’re sure to find the perfect color of tieless laces for every occasion. In fact, we offer video tutorials that teach you and your kid how to double up different colors to create unique patterns.
Speaking of different patterns options, you might just be amazed at the creative designs your kid comes up with when you let them play with their new tieless laces from Synch bands. While we show how to do a number of different lacing patterns on our website, there are so many more that your kid can explore and play with to create a signature lacing pattern and color style that represents their personality.
Even when kids get their shoes tied before leaving the house, unless they’ve truly mastered the art of tying traditional shoelaces, chances are that they will be trailing laces a short time later. While kids never think they’ll be the one who trips on their shoelaces, we all know it’s really just a matter of time. In fact, you may already be nodding your head in agreement as you think about how many times you’ve told your own kid to tie their shoes. Have you said it so much you wish they could just wear flip flops everywhere? We get it! That’s actually why we came up with elastic tieless shoelaces in the first place! Once you buy your kid their first pair of tieless laces, not only will you eliminate future tripping hazards, but you’ll be able to stop nagging them to tie their shoes.
When you think about your own time learning to tie shoelaces, it may be so long ago that it really doesn’t seem like it was that big of a deal. The truth is, however, that learning to tie traditional shoelaces can be very stressful for a lot of kids — so much so that there are kids in upper elementary who still have their parents tie their shoes for them! No parent wants to create a more stressful life for their kid. When you order elastic tieless laces from Synch Bands, you’ll be able to help your kid feel confident about securing their own shoes and making them stay on all day long.
Even though Synch Bands come in three different sizes and you can use the built-in metal ends to lock your laces in place.
Sometimes you can't lock your laces in place to get the exact look and feel that you want. The Synch Clips allow you to shorten the length of your Synch Bands to make sure everyone gets their perfect fit.
Although Synch Bands can be custom fit to your foot by using the Synch Clip to cinch up excess lace, we released different sizes to keep the amount of excess lace to a minimum :)
]]>Although Synch Bands can be custom fit to your foot by using the Synch Clip to cinch up excess lace, we released different sizes to keep the amount of excess lace to a minimum :)
Our new and simplified sizing chart is now solely based on shoe size* :)
The size chart is a general guideline for anyone that wants to Synch up their shoes using a traditional lacing pattern.
*NOTE: If you plan on using your Synch Bands on high-tops, we suggest purchasing the next size up for your shoe size.
With any guideline, there are exceptions:
If you know that you want to lace up your shoes using a Bar Pattern or two (2) colors in your lace pattern then simply go down to the next smaller sized Synch Bands. For example, a pair of adult Chucks that would normally require a L/XL pair of Synch Bands would be better suited for S/M.
If you know that you want to lace up your shoes using a Weave Pattern then simply go up to the next larger sized Synch Bands.
We hope this helps you quickly and easily figure out what Synch Bands to get for you or someone else.
And don't worry if you get a size that is either too small or too big. Simply send the Synch Bands back to us telling us which size you want and we'll exchange them for FREE :)
]]>But, they're not for sale :(
The only way you get some is when you buy some Synch Bands.
For every $10 in Synch Bands and/or shipping (for our international Synch Mobsters) you spend, we'll throw in a FREE STICKER with your shipment.
Let's get these stickers everywhere.
ps. make sure you share some pics on Instagram of where you put your stickers and tag it #synchbands and we'll give you a shoutout!

Aura Skate Park in Vista, CA put on a great Best Trick Contest and BBQ that brought out all ages, skills levels, with boys and girls showing off their best skate tricks to win some really sick prize packs that included Vestal watches, decks, sunglasses, wheels, footwear, and of course Synch Bands :)
Synch Bands has supported the park since it first opened and we were super excited to see our banner hung on the wall for everyone to see that Synch Bands are the new way to deal with the problem of busted laces, untied shoelaces, and laces that are ridiculously too long. It's time to Replace the Lace with the coolest elastic shoelaces. Period.
Jeff King from Built to Shred fame was there to support this awesome skate park and MC the entire all-day event.
One of the winners, Irvin, was super stoked to win some Synch Bands. He had seen them before and really wanted to get them on his shoes cuz his normal laces were busting in a day. He showed me his VOX shoes that he just got the day before and the laces were already busted. So, we Replaced the Lace right there after his first event win and he then skated the rest of the day with them in and LOVED THEM!!
Irvin wasn't the only new fan of Synch Bands. We want to give special shout outs to Cristian and the Ritchart Family, Jonathon and his Grandma, and the sick skater in Red with the Green Synch Bands...I never got his name :( But he ripped :)
Aura Skate Park is the only place that carries our specially coated Synch Bands - Skate that hold up better to skating than regular shoe laces. Be sure to swing in there and Replace The Lace and then rip on their their new hand rails built by Jim Bell & Jeff King and hubba ledges.
]]>Having growing up in our formative years in San Diego, we love to be able to get back and reconnect from time to time with the awesome folks down there.
We had been introduced to SDSI on a chance encounter with Aaron Churder from Overload Skate Shop on our way home from MAGIC.
As we start getting Synch Bands off the ground, we certainly admit we don't everything there is to know about business, so we thought what a great opportunity to connect with other cool and successful entrepreneurs and see what connections we could make and start to shed some light on our product.
SD Sport Innovators (SDSI) is the heartbeat of the Southern California sports business community. They inspire sports innovation through connections & networking, mentoring & education and access to capital.
Needless to say we had a great time re-connecting with old friends, like Kelly Grismer from The Wheat Group and Aaron Churder, and making new connections and getting great advice from people like Jim Stroesser from Adio Footwear.
We even got a little face time with Renne Catalano from SDSI to talk about Synch Bands.

Aura Skatepark is located at 1074 La Mirada Court, Vista, CA and is a private indoor skatepark where skateboarders, BMX riders and scooter riders can ride the highest quality ramps custom built by Jim Bell and his team under the best possible conditions.
The entire place functions as a couple of things: a high quality skateboarding ramp construction and design center, a private indoor skatepark (with competition style street course and world class spine ramp), and a multi-purpose event venue for hire.
Skating has been a part of our company since we started giving away Synch Bands to skaters to get their feedback at last summer's X-Games in LA. We're super stoked that Jim and his team are giving people the chance to ride his epic ramps that are throughout the Skatepark.
Aura Skatepark is open for daily, monthly and annual members during the following hours:
* Monday – Thursday: 3 pm to 8 pm
* Friday: Noon to 4 pm
* Saturday: 10 am to 10 pm
* Sunday: Noon to 6 pm
The ramp showroom and design center are open during regular Skatepark hours, as well as by appointment. What's also cool is that the Skatepark has a family lounge that has free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, a pool table, and toys/games for younger kids.
Aura Skatepark is the first retail location to carry Synch Bands. So, while you're there, replace your shoelaces and grab some Synch Bands. Tell Jim and Doug we sent ya!
]]>So we were so excited to hear that we made Logan Magazine's "Products We Love" list for Winter 2012.
Logan Magazine's (LM) mission is to inspire, encourage and inform young people with disabilities about how to lead a lifestyle that is productive, purposeful and pleasurable. With the goal being to motivate young people to live, work, play, dream big and look great, while experiencing all life has to offer.
The driving force behind Logan Magazine is Logan Olson and her mom, Laurie. Logan suffered a brain injury at the age of 16 and while on her road of rehabilitation, she got tired of wearing sweatpants all the time and had the courage to be like any other 16-year old girl that still wanted to be fashionable, wear makeup, all while celebrating herself regardless of how her injury had limited her physically. And so, Logan Magazine was born.
LM promotes products that assist independence. Logan always says “independence rocks!”
We hope to continue spreading the word that Synch Bands™ are just as functional as they are fashionable.
Thank you so much Logan and Laurie for spreading the word :)
]]>Tucked away in the Morgan Hill area of Temecula, the Trail Blazers continued our awesome experiences with Temecula Valley elementary schools.
We had a few Synch Fans super excited that we were there and letting people know to come by our booth and check us out. Family after family came to our booth and were amazed out how cool Synch Bands™ were and equally excited that untied shoe laces could now be a thing of the past for their kids.
Some kids couldn't wait to get home to get their Synch Bands™ on their shoes and had us Synch 'em up right there at the booth.
As more and more people found out about us, we often heard, "You guys should be on Shark Tank!"
We just laughed and appreciated their kind words of encouragement.
We'll be there someday, but until then we're 100% focused on making Synch Bands™ the best shoelace replacement product on the planet.
Special thanks to Renee Marchese for inviting us to Tony Tobin ES and making the day so awesome for us :)
]]>Principal Mike Marble invited Synch Bands to come and setup a booth. We gladly accepted the invitation and donated a percentage of our sales back to the school.
The event was a blast for everyone involved. Some of the biggest inflatables I had ever seen were setup for the kids enjoyment, along with a ton of fun games and arts/craft booths.
We had a steady stream of kids and parents coming by the booth to see what Synch Bands were all about. It was so cool to see their faces light up when they found out that they would never have to worry about tying their shoes ever again :)
Some parents took the opportunity while their kid's shoes were off to play in the inflatables to come over and buy Synch Bands and have us replace their kids laces right on the spot. We definitely added some fans to the Synch Mob that night.
All in all, it was a great event. Thank you Principal Marble and Cole Canyon Elementary for having us! And, we look forward to our next event scheduled at Tony Tobin Elementary in Temecula on Saturday, 3/10/12 from 11am-3pm.
]]>This past weekend was so much fun spreading the word about Synch™ Bands here in Southern California.
We started our weekend on Thursday by hitting the Oceanside Sunset Market from 5-9pm. We were excited for our first night-time event.
It was great to see all the kids in their cool Halloween costumes. People from all walks of life kept coming to our booth telling us what a great idea we have and that we are really onto something here :)
We'll be sure to be back at another Thursday Sunset Market.
We had our first school fundraiser where we setup a booth at Barnett Elementary's Annual Harvest Festival and donated 20% of all sales back to the school.
What a great response!! Kids and parents alike loved Synch™ Bands! We sold more pairs of Synch™ Bands in 4 hours than in any of our other previous all-day events. It felt so good to be able to donate a percentage of each sale back to the school :)
Saturday - Richland Elementary Halloween Carnival
The weekend ended with our 2nd 20% Back fundraiser at Richland Elementary's Annual Halloween Carnival.
Again, kids and parents couldn't get enough of Synch™ Bands. It was so cool to see their faces light up when they realized what Synch™ Bands were and that now they no longer had to tie their shoes anymore. It was definitely time to Replace the Lace! One boy and his mom were so excited that they couldn't even wait to get home to put their new Synch™ Bands on.
Demand was so high that we sold out of our remaining Motley Blue, Black Jack, and White Lightning Medium-sized pairs. No worries, we still have some on-hand for online orders :)
As we were selling, we were approached to do more fundraisers for other schools and organizations. So, we will surely be doing more of these type of events in the future.
If you'd like us to come to your school or event, feel free to contact us at yo@synchbands.com
Cheers!

X Games 17 was July 28-31, 2011 right here in our backyard in Los Angeles at Staples Center/LA Live/Nokia Theater. So, we thought it would a great idea to go check it out, let people know all about us, and see if we could get some more feedback on Synch Bands.
We found a perfect spot just outside the VIP section (there was a Shaun White and Mark Wahlberg siting) and started handing out free Synch Bands.
I gotta say that almost everyone was super cool and they were all super stoked on Synch Bands.
The skaters there loved Synch Bands and gave us some great feedback on what we need to do to make them even better for skaters! - Thanks guys.
And the kids and moms couldn't get enough of Synch Bands. Saying how they all hate to tie their shoes and they couldn't wait to get home to Synch up their shoes and spread the word to their friends and family.
I gotta give a special shout out to Aaron G. and Lucas M. for showing much love to us. Thanks guys! It was perfect timing for us to meet Aaron as his shoelaces had just busted and he needed to replace them...Synch Bands to the rescue!
Christie from Angel City Derby Girls you were super cool and good luck on your upcoming event on Aug. 13 in Culver City.
And, Daniel Vanderlei (not 100% on the spelling), pro moto-x rider, we're not sponsoring any athletes yet. But who knows what the future holds, we're young and just getting started, so make sure to stay connected with us on Facebook and Twitter :)
Cheers to everyone else we met! Another awesome day in the life of Synch Bands!
]]>Everyone that we connected with loved Synch Bands from the crew we met from Compton sportin' their khakis and Chucks to the skaters stylin' Vans at the skate park. I guess no one likes to tie their laces, either!
Nick, Jad, and Mehlan from The Ave were totally cool and even let us pass out some free Synch Bands in front of their store.
